Key words and expressions: 1. advice advice 不可数名词, 意为“劝告, 忠告”。一条建议: a piece of advice。常用短语: (1) take one’s advice 听/采纳某人的建议 (2) give sb. advice on ... 在……方面给某人建议 (3) ask sb. for advice 向某人征求意见 My English teacher gave me some advice on English. 我的英语老师曾在英语方面给我提过一些建议。 If you take my advice, you can pass the test. 如果你听我的建议,你会通过这次考试的。 You might ask him for advice on this matter. 这事可以让他给你参谋一下。 [链接] advise是动词,常用句式: (1) advise doing sth 建议做某事。如: He advised leaving early. 他建议早点动身。 I advise waiting till proper time. 我建议等到适当时机。 注:不能直接后跟不定式作宾语。所以不能说:He advised to leave early. (2) advise sb. to do sth. 建议某人做某事。如: He advised me to buy a computer. 他建议我买台电脑。 The doctor advised me to take a complete rest. 医生建议我完全休息。 We advised them to start early. 我们建议他们及早开始。 (3) advise sb. against doing sth. 劝告某人不要做某事。如: He advised her against going out at night. 他劝她晚上不要出去。 Her father advised her against marrying the worker. 她父亲劝告她不要嫁给这个工人。 注:该句型有时可与 advise sb. not to do sth. 替换。 如上面第一句也可说成:He advised her not to go out at night. 3. It’s a good idea to do … It’s a good idea to do sth. 意思是“做…是个好主意”。如: It’s a good idea to write down the teacher’s notes. 记下老师的笔记是一个好想法。 It's a good idea to see your dentist before leave.

最好在离开前先看看牙医。 It’s a good idea for sb. to do sth.意思是 “对… 来说是个好主意”。如: It’s a good idea for us to travel to the south. 去南方旅行对我们来说是个好主意。 It’s a good idea for you to walk after supper. 对你来说,晚饭后散散步是个好主意。
4. How about doing…? = What about doing…? What about / How about doing sth? 表示“做某事怎么样?”, 其用法有: (1) 用来询问情况或打听消息等,意为“……怎么样?/……如何?”。 如:
I’m ready. What about you?
How about Mother? Is she all right?
How about your English exam yesterday? (2) 用来提出请求,建议或征求对方意见,意为“(你认为)……怎么样? /……如何?”。 如:
How about having a rest?
What about a cup of tea?
Of course I’ll come. What about Friday?
What about Father? We can’t just leave him here.
5. try to do ... try to do sth.表示“努力做某事”。如: We should try hard to help the poor people. 我们应该努力去帮助穷人。 [注意] try not to do sth. 表示 “努力/尽量不做某事”。如: We should try not to make any mistakes. 我们应该尽量不犯错误。 [辨析]

try to do sth. 和 try doing sth. 的用法 try to do sth.表示“努力做某事;试图干…”,强调付出努力,但不一定成功; try doing表示“尝试做某事,尝试做…试试”,含有“看结果如何”之意。 如:
She tried washing her hair with a new shampoo.
He didn’t try to do it.
Please try to finish this work in thirty minutes.

6. agree agree 意为“同意” 常见的用法有: (1) agree to do sth. 同意做某事 (2) agree with sb. on sth. 在某方面与某人意见一致 (3) agree +从句 反义词是disagree, 其名词形式是agreement。 My father agreed with me on it. 在这件事上我爸爸和我意见一致。 They agree that we go to university. 他们都同意我们上大学。 My mother agrees that I go out to play at the weekend. 我妈妈同意我周末出去玩。 I agree with you on studying. 在学习上我同意你的观点。 He agreed to start early in the morning. 他同意早晨早点出发了。 |
